Kathy Bolhous

Chief Executive Officer

Kathy Bolhous has over 25 years of leadership experience in the plastics industry. She has a proven track record of leading companies through significant growth and transformation. She has done this through executing highly successful acquisitions and mergers, as well as through driving organic growth. Kathy’s experience in the plastics industry includes large-scale plastic injection molding, blow molding and industry-leading blown film extrusion. Kathy serves as a board member of the Flexible Packaging Association.

Dave Timm

President and Chief Operating Officer

Dave Timm directs the Charter NEX technical, quality, materials and operations departments. Administration of these critical functions combined with Dave’s vision and ability to integrate resin-purchasing strategies with film development has allowed us to streamline our portfolio and develop grades that not only provide exceptional performance for our customers but are also manufacturing-friendly and cost-effectively designed. In addition to being a co-founder of Charter Films, Dave has spent his entire 30-year career in film making.

Tom Ziolkowski

Chief Financial Officer

Tom Ziolkowski has over 30 years of experience in consumer goods, paper and plastic film manufacturing. He is responsible for all aspects of accounting and financial operations as well as overseeing the financial aspects of mergers and acquisitions.

Colleen Bohn

Vice President of Strategy & Business Development

Colleen Bohn brings over 20 years of experience working with packaging companies in leadership and strategy roles. She is responsible for leading our strategic planning efforts to position our company for growth in new markets and through acquisitions.

Charter Films and NEX Performance Films merged in 2012, combining two of the leading blown film extrusion companies.

NEX History

  • 1988 – Started production, Turners Falls, MA (New England Extrusion)
  • 1998 – Expanded with new facility in Milton, WI
  • 2005 – NEX acquired by Appleton, including former American Plastics, Rhinelander facility (Acquired by Appleton 2003) and all three facilities renamed Appleton Performance Films
  • July 2010 – NEX acquired by Mason Wells, Milwaukee, WI, became NEX Performance Films
  • December 2012 – Mason Wells acquires Charter Films

  • 2003-2010 – Facility Expansions
