Safety Specialist-Milton, WI

The Safety Specialist is responsible for assisting in the development, implementation and updating of required safety programs put in place by the Corporate EHS Steering Team.  The Safety Specialist shall lead or delegate training of all production and office staff for core safety topics put in place by the Corporate EHS Steering team, maintaining site specific safety items.  Also responsible for timely reporting and recording of all site specific safety items to the Corporate EHS Steering Team.

Primary Responsibilities:

Employee Health & Safety Coordinator (EHS)

  • Must be a member of the Corporate EHS Steering Team.
  • Lead local plant EHS Steering Team, sharing findings with local plant as well as Corporate EHS Steering Team.
  • Coordinate and lead Safety Meetings for production, maintenance and office staff on a monthly basis.
  • Review plant safety committee meeting minutes and safety inspection reports, following up as necessary.
  • Collaborate with EHS Steering Team and plan bi-monthly core safety topics for safety meeting presentations.
  • Head up incident reporting program for local plant:
    • Coordinate and hold meetings with supervisory staff and/or Plant Manager in the event of an injury or finding of an incident report that is deemed hazardous to employee’s health and wellbeing; including but not limited to investigations and corrective actions.
  • Conduct periodic safety audits of all departments including communicating and logging any issues that need to be addressed.
  • Identify, evaluate and eliminate potentially hazardous conditions.
  • Ensure employees are following work restrictions as warranted.
  • Maintains the “Safety Slip” safety incentive program.
  • Monitor and update safety communication screen and boards.

 Safety Training:

  • Trains authorized employees and maintains yearly powered industrial vehicle certifications.
  • Organizes applicable onsite training with outside sources in the event not qualified to perform specific training.
  • Coordinates hearing and vision tests.
  • Ensures all OSHA required training is completed on an annual basis.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Plant Engineer is responsible for engineering level project management and technical troubleshooting to assure safe and reliable operation of plant equipment. Essential Functions, including but not limited to:

  • Work with Senior Management and Plant Management to identify and prioritize, and implement key projects related to quality, productivity, Preventive/Predictive Maintenance, reliability, scrap reduction and safety
  • Responsible for developing and providing financial justification for capital projects, and maintaining the capital expenditure budget for the Superior plant
  • Coordination and scheduling oversight for plant upgrades, and major machine repairs and retrofits
  • Continuously develop PM and PdM programs to improve the plant’s overall cost of operation and equipment reliability
  • Provide training and documentation for all calibration procedures on equipment to assure quality and compliance with audit requirements
  • Maintain programs according to governmental regulation including pressure vessel licensing, radioactive gauge licensing, LOTO, Arc Flash Safety, Stormwater pollution prevention, etc.
  • Evaluation of critical spares inventory and life-cycle wear analysis of critical equipment
  • Provide technical support for Maintenance projects and day-to-day operations
  • Maintain and update equipment documentation, drawings, equipment labeling and maintenance records
  • Maintain and further develop the plant’s NFPA 70E compliance and arc flash safety program
  • Maintain good working relationships through clear and consistent communications with site staff, contractors, and management regarding project status and needs
  • Periodic travel to other facilities of varying duration may be required. Percentage of travel / work at other plant locations will range from 5% – 10%.

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • A Bachelors in Engineering Degree and/or at least five years of industrial work experience that would include a background from a fast-paced manufacturing environment, engineering/manufacturing/construction project management, and/or industrial maintenance and construction.

IT Business Analyst – Operations- Milton, WI                      

Charter NEX Films is now hiring an IT Business Analyst for the Milton plant. The Primary purpose of this position is working with IT’s internal business customers (i.e. those primarily focused on plant operations), IT department colleagues and partners; evaluate CNEX’s business processes and supporting systems, anticipating requirements, uncovering improvement opportunities and developing, then implementing rectifying solutions. This position will report to the IT Operations & Development Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Partners with the business to identify/define/prioritize business problems with existing business processes and supporting systems/programs or initiate designs of new applications.
  • Communicate, translate, and simplify business requirements to ensure buy-in from all stakeholders
  • Ensures customer acceptance by soliciting their involvement on requirement definition, designs, testing and deployment.
  • Maintains contact/communications with end-customers to ensure systems continually meet or exceed the customers’ expectations.
  • Performs analysis and design for operations centric business processes, data and supporting applications. Identify probable impacts on related processes, data and business systems.
  • Prepares statements of work, business cases, design/testing/training/support documentation (per approved SDLC methodology) for development and deployment of custom and/or package applications.
  • Follows and acts as a leader for the department development methodology.
  • Works with technical resources to develop and test application; determines and resolves data errors/problems; and coordinates work/signoff with business users.
  • Prepares and presents project deliverables to the appropriate management for project review throughout the development life cycle.
  • Orients user personnel to new or changed procedures. May demonstrate project prototypes/demos to relevant consumers/researchers/third parties.
  • Review proposals, including gathering facts, analyzing data and preparing project overview which compares alternatives in terms of cost, time, availability of equipment and personnel, etc. Recommends course of action.
  • Supports existing software which may require 24 hour/day 7 day/week coverage.

Skills and Specifications

  • Written and oral communication skills enabling the ability to convey needs, requirements, and solutions to different stakeholders
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and supporting systems (e.g. shop floor operations, inventory management, warehousing (in/out), logistics, etc.). Flexible packaging industry experience a plus.  APICS certification a plus.
  • Experience leading both custom and package system development and implementation efforts.   PMI certification a plus.
  • Possess VB.net/SQL technical knowledge is a plus
