Job Title: Production Supervisor- Night Shift

The Production Supervisor is responsible for providing production leadership on a designated 12-hour shift, directing the plant’s production activities in a safe and efficient manner to achieve the desired quality, quantity and timely production of product. Assures quality and safety, achieves established goals and objectives, while driving employee morale and work environment.
Shift:
12 hour, rotating Night shift. 5:30pm-5:30am
1st week work days: Wednesday, Thursday
2nd week work days: Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat, Sun
Employee Responsibilities:
• Directly manage all daily activities across production lines, in conjunction with managers across shifts or departments.
• Provides leadership responsibilities, assuring safe work practices, compliance and the enforcement of Charter NEX Films safety policies and procedures; conducts safety meetings assuring effective safety content, staff participation and input
• Verifies quality checks are performed on every order, and all quality, production and lot number data are entered in the computer to ensure the highest quality products are produced, maintaining traceability.
• Ability to make decisions in emergency situations, conduct emergency action plans as necessary; takes necessary, immediate action with staff with any safety violations.
• Reviews all quality control paperwork on each order to ensure that all necessary checks are being done and are in accordance with job and order specifications; ensures that retain procedures are effectively adhered to.
• Inspects packaging to ensure the timely, accurate and neat packaging of product, as well as storage quality and the delegation of effective housekeeping processes.
• Conducts regular, effective performance evaluation and coaching sessions with staff to develop core competencies, address performance improvements, establish training plans and build confidence of staff; assists staff with the development of corrective action plans to improve and enhance job performance.
• Is an effective role model for staff to include the following: sets example for Charter NEX Films with a strong work ethic; promotes the organization in a positive manner; allocates time for personal growth and development, and promotes a positive work environment

Maintenance Technician- Milton WI

Applicants for this position should have manufacturing and/or maintenance experience and be able to work in a fast-paced environment where quality and attention to detail are required.  Our facilities offer state of the art manufacturing equipment with a well-developed Preventive Maintenance program that highlights reliability. Reliable, self-starters must be able to perform Preventive Maintenance, trouble shooting, and installation of mechanical drive systems, pneumatic conveying equipment, chiller equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, perform equipment alignment tasks, and work on automated industrial systems.

Schedule: 12 hour shift; Rotating nights 6pm-6am; (3 days 1 week; 4 days the second week; every other weekend)

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide support for emergency or unplanned repairs of production equipment and auxiliary systems.
  • Troubleshoot basic to complex mechanical and electrical issues. Must show ability to get to the root cause and make and implement recommendations to improve reliability.
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance on production and support equipment and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and schematic prints (electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical) to perform required maintenance and service
  • Record and submit accurate work order data and parts usage using the CMMS system
  • Correctly identify and apply appropriate lubricant or oil for a given application.
  • Basic plumbing installation and repair including the ability to cut, prepare, and join sweated, threaded, and mechanically joined pipe and tube.
  • Proper use of basic measuring and alignment tools such as dial calipers, rulers, squares, tape measures, carpenter’s levels, plumb bobs, etc.
  • Fit and align power transmission components including motors, gearboxes, and belt drives
  • May assist or support contractors on major installation or retrofit projects
  • Perform basic housekeeping responsibilities within the department and other areas as assigned
  • Comply with all safety and PPE requirements.
  • Comply with all GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices) to ensure product quality
  • Follow Electrical Safe Work Practices as outlined by NFPA 70E

 

Requirements:

  • Two years of technical school training in Industrial Maintenance, Machine Repair, Automated Systems, or other similar skilled trades is desired along with 2 or more years of verifiable work experience in related fields.
  • Ability to lift up to 55 lbs on a regular basis, walk/stand for prolonged period of time, and work at heights and in hot or cold conditions.
  • Experience with PLC’s, drives and industrial controls is desired.

Summary:

· Loads and unloads trailers with guidance accurately. Can follow a provided load list accurately.

· Assists in housekeeping, maintaining, and organizing the warehouse with guidance.

· Assists with monthly finished goods inventory.

Summary:

Provide leadership for the maintenance technicians through daily task assignments, PM scheduling and assignment of projects so that operational and department needs are met in a timely and efficient manner. Train technicians through hands-on work and troubleshooting to transfer best and safe work practices. The Maintenance Supervisor will support and meet all performance expectation described in Maintenance Department General Evaluation Criteria document in Leadership and performance of own duties.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Review Daily Production Logs for information regarding quality or equipment problems and other information that may not have been entered into CMMS; make or assign corrective actions.
  • Record/track history of regularly scheduled PM for extrusion and support equipment.
  • Monitor and update Plant Equipment PM check sheets (on whiteboard); assign tasks as need to keep the list current.
  • Monitor CMMS maintenance requests on a daily basis to schedule and assign repair work in a timely manner
  • Make recommendations to Engineering relating to overall machinery condition and areas of greatest concern; need for more extensive repairs, upgrades, replacement, etc.
  • Assign follow-up work and maintain corrective action documentation based on results from IR inspections, Vibration analysis, and Ultrasonic Inspections for leak or corona detection.
  • All maintenance & utility technicians report to the Maintenance Manager for work assignments and prioritization of work
  • Give Management relevant input for maintenance technicians annual reviews and personnel management.
  • Work with Plant Engineer or Management to produce the maintenance technician work schedule, process vacation requests, handle scheduling exceptions.
  • Manage and update the PM check-sheet documents, Plant PM lists, calibrations forms, etc.
  • Specify and request repair, upgrade, and retrofit parts and materials from Purchasing and/or Engineering (i.e. With an upcoming die clean, request that a set of die bolts and cleaning material be ordered)
  • Assist the Maintenance Engineer in the continued development of the Technician Progression Plan, training program and related documentation.

Requirements:

  • Must be a Charter NEX employee for a minimum of three years preferable in the Maintenance Department.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of technical experience in a Manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge and experience with Reliability process such as lubrication, precision maintenance, predictive maintenance, work management, root cause analysis, operator care, preventive maintenance, Reliability design.

An employee in this entry level job position is responsible for transferring of finished rolls of film from an extrusion line and packaging/labeling the rolls per customer specifications.

Charter NEX is hiring full time Maintenance Technician in Blythewood SC.  The Maintenance Technician position is primarily responsible for performing machine repair, troubleshooting and preventative maintenance on equipment as well as the buildings and grounds.  Additionally will work under the direction of the Engineering and/or Maintenance Managers to complete special projects such as the installation of new equipment.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Troubleshooting mechanical processes and controls as assigned.
