TURNERS FALLS, MA – May 2014 – Charter NEX Films announces the expansion of their Turner Falls, Massachusetts facility.

The Charter NEX Films plant will be adding a new additional extrusion line, scheduled to arrive in August. Additional jobs will come with the added equipment with six new positions hired initially. The plant currently employs 72 people, engaged in the manufacture of films for medical instrument and food packaging and other applications.

“Our strategy is to continually invest in all of our facilities with state of the art equipment to support our growing customer demands for performance and quality,” said Kathy Bolhous, Chief Executive Officer. “This plant has shown strong operational performance and these investments will allow them to raise the bar on performance.”

“Adding additional assets to our Turners Falls plant demonstrates our commitment to our customers and our employees. This line being installed is truly state-of-the-art extrusion technology and will provide additional capabilities for market expansion at this location,” said Chris Trapp, President and Chief Operating Officer. The additional line will be a new Windmoeller & Hoelscher (W&H) 3-layer blown film line.

This is one of several additions and upgrades Charter NEX is planning throughout the company as it continues to enhance their expertise in high-performance blown film manufacturing. With these investments, Charter NEX Films will be able to respond to the continual growing customer demand.

Charter NEX Films manufactures coextruded, barrier, and monolayer blown films for a wide variety of high-performance packaging applications from their manufacturing facilities in Milton, Rhinelander, and Superior, Wisconsin and Turners Falls, Massachusetts.
